Made slowly, by hand.
A single jacket passes through the hands of twelve master artisans over the course of three months. Nothing is expedited.
Anatomical Paper Pattern DraftingNo machines. No shortcuts.
A Maison Noir jacket is sculpted by hand over ninety hours. From the anatomical paper draft to the hand-basted horsehair chest canvas, every seam responds to your posture and breath.
We use traditional brass shears, silk Gütermann thread, and natural steam moulding to create armor that drapes effortlessly for decades.
The Four Chapters of Creation
Chapter IThe Paper Pattern
A bespoke paper draft created entirely from 32 individual physical body measurements. Preserved forever in the Maison Noir archives.
Chapter IIThe Precision Shears
Ninety-two individual pieces of wool and silk, hand-cut by a master tailor using brass shears inherited over three generations.
Chapter IIIFull Horsehair Canvas
A full floating canvas crafted from pure horsehair, basted by hand over four private fittings — never fused, never glued.
Chapter IVSilk Milanaise Buttonholes
Every lapel buttonhole is worked by hand over 45 minutes in thick Gütermann silk gimp thread. Over ninety hours of dedication.
